credor spring drive sonnerie watch

this has been a personal project of mine on my free time for the last 6 months , well 4 months really cause i left it on

the side for 2 months trying to figure out how to render the different components of the watch.

Been a mechanical engineering student i am facinated by all things mechanical and especially the details on them. That

was the reason i've chosen this watch to model, because of its complexity the amount of details on the mechanism and the

precision by whitch it was made.

some specs about the project.
the watch mechanism that i modelled first is comprised av 395 parts and 209 000 quads and the casing is 428 parts with

a total of 189 000 polys all modelled in maya
i wanted to make them as accurate as possible. The textures are made in photoshop the whole scene was modelled in maya

exported in maxwell studio and rendered in layers. then with the help of photoshop i compined the pieces together made

adjustments such as color correction, curves, effects and such. hope u like it.

Here are some other renders, wip images and wires.

the casing

earlier version of the mechanism

a little test on an early stage

the mechanism

and the mech inside the casing

and an earlier version of that

the wires
This image started as a fish model i was going to do for i speed modelling contest in another forum.i made the model in one hour in maya and as i havent posted any new work for quite some time i made this scene to work on my texturing and post skills as well. The theme is about an old fishing trip som friends made a long time ago and the photograph of the fish the friends captured. The rockbass fish was rendered in mental ray an then all the effects (polaroid, fisherman reflection in body and eye of the fish, water splashes, etc)where made in photoshop. c&c always welcome

The Last Moments Of Taurilus

This is my contribution to the spectacular challenge. a short description of the conceopt follows

The last moments of Taurilus.

The sun will die... the scientists had predicted this and made preparations for the
evacuation of Taurilus. The old king was the only one that denied the fact that the sun
was going to explode. He didnt want to believe, it was too much for him. To see all the
things he loved the most just vanish in an instance. the last hours before the explotion
he was all alone in his throne room looking att the ships evacuating the planet. Alone
with his thoughts. thoughts of anger, denial, and despair about his people and
homeplanet. he was looking around to all his creatures that he had many into onrmaments
and statues to be part of him in the throne room.
The magnificant hydras that were swimming in the waters of Taurilus and he loved so much
that he had them made in statues and have them beside him in his throne, the lathadrial
snail and dragonsnake he brought for the moon of Taurilus and the olideneater that is
destent to live with a parasite attached to its spine to remind him the burdon of duty
and responsibilities he had towards his people. everything was in that throne room... and
would be destroyed. Suddenly it happed... a great flash of light from the direction of
the sun that lighted the hole sky. "its done" he thought out loud.
A great shake followed that shook the whole dome structure and the top of the dome
collaped in front of him. He didnt react... he was still staring at the sun... the last
ships were flying away when the EMP struck the planet. he heared a loud noise and glanced
to the left just in time to see two of the transportships collide with its other. The
pain and anger was overwelming and killing him inside. with a tear and a anger in his
face he grabed the throne and cried out towards the sun "WHY!!!.."
